According to the New Yorker, McCain is a Plate of Shit with Broken Glass in it

There are many things about Obama that I dislike intensely (and the same is true about McCain, incidentally). In fact, “dislike intensely” is not nearly strong enough; “find to be evil” is probably more accurate. But one of the things that I absolutely hate about Obama is how smug and righteous are many of his supporters. The haughty sense of superiority that permeates the Left, and how it’s legitimacy is supposed to be taken as self-evident, is a source of constant nausea.

Consider this opinion piece at the New Yorker. One has to read all the way to the bottom to identify who the writer supports (although one can safely assume much earlier), in this line thrown in there obviously as a means of identifying McCain as the “platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it”:

Still, though, it taught me a valuable lesson: calling yourself a maverick is a sure sign that you’re not one.

If a McCain supporter wrote a piece like this, that was published in a major publication like the New Yorker, they’d be pilloried and likely branded a racist. But write it in support of Obama, and apparently it rises to high art. Or, maybe, “humor.”
